Centred around the experience and industry knowledge of Helen and Adrian, who lead the business and are the main contacts for all clients, the associate model supports our approach. It works well for us as it enables us to offer a flexible and affordable service, meaning our clients receive the same ‘agency’ experience at a lower cost, due to reduced overheads. It also means we can draw on the talents of a wider pool as and when we need to.
The wider team bring the creative and digital skills, however by working with us and other organisations in the sector, they have also developed a level of industry experience and that continues to grow.
In addition to the core team, we also work with other copywriters, designers, photographers and videographers.
Director
Helen has over 25 years’ experience in both marketing and sales roles and has held senior in-house positions including Group Head of Marketing & PR and Key Account Manager roles, amongst others. She has been self-employed for over five years working with companies across the highways and transport sectors. Some of her clients were known to her prior to going freelance, however others have come via referrals within the industry and through direct business development and networking. As such, Helen has been successfully engaged working with multiple clients from highway technology to civil engineering since the launch of her first marketing business – H2H Marketing Services (H2H = Human2Human).
Read moreHelen has strong client relationship skills and is ‘hands on’ in her clients’ businesses applying all of the knowledge and skills she has developed over the years. She started her career in the highways industry in the mid-1990s and has a strong network across the industry both in the UK and overseas.
With combined knowledge and experience in marketing and communications, business development, bidding and account management, she has provided a tailored offering to her clients based on an associate business model that she has developed over the past five years. This allows SMEs to procure a service at a higher level for a lower cost than an in-house team. She firmly believes every business is different depending on the in-house skill sets, the market(s), the product and/or service, current positioning, and future goals and works to understand this and build on her clients’ successes.
What makes her different? Helen has held a number of roles in business development and account management as well as marketing – fully client facing – and likes to refer to herself as ‘hybrid’. Her experience allows her to understand the objectives of both sales and marketing and how each can support and enable the other which provides added value to her clients. She is also very good at identifying opportunities for her clients and providing support to the sales personnel to enable those opportunities to be realised.
Helen also has extensive management experience and completed an Advanced Management Programme when working in-house and as such has a good understanding of business strategy and wider business activities.
